TRU-SPEC Woodland BDU

This may not warrant a news post but whatever, I am very excited for this.  After years of wanting, I finally bought a set of woodland BDUs in ACU cut.  I have always loved the TRU-SPEC brand and so I chose them again for this.  The team have also agreed to my proposal to use woodland as our summer camo.  On another note, I normally wear the BDUs in XL but for this, I ordered them in Large.  At first, I was worried as they will not fit, but to my surprise, they are a perfect fit.  Now I am very excited to play again.

Another Day at Picton

This past Saturday, my fellow GHOSTS members and myself attended another airsoft game at Picton Recreational Zone.  The theme was the hunt for OBL and we signed up for the US Army Rangers.  The game itself was alright, but I still had fun regardless since I was able to run with my teammates.  On top of that, we were able to field our night vision optics like the bad-asses that we are.  In the eight member group, we had seven NODs and two of the guys also fielded SAWs to great effect.

Snow Flower and the Secret Fan

Over my vacation, I read Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See.  It was not an overly long book so I was able to finish it in a few sittings on the beach.  The book tells the story of Lily and her friendship with Snow Flower over 19th century China.  During this time, foot binding was a common practice and a woman's worth was how she can serve her husband by bearing him sons.  I was always fascinated by the foot binding practice and this book really opened the gates on the reasoning behind it and how it is done.  I still cringe when I think back on it.

Toronto Airsoft Convention 2012

Today marked another year where Team GHOSTS attended the annual Toronto Airsoft Convention.  Most of the team members volunteered as staff for the convention while team leader Colin manned the booth.  It was great to see some old friends and also many new faces.  At the end of the day, we are all exhausted but the convention went on without a hitch.

Annual Winter Classic Airsoft Game

I keep telling myself how much I hate the cold and yet I keep going to games that put me in the cold.  This time, its Zeon's Annual Winter Classic game at Flag Raiders.  Two weeks before the game, weather predictions looked quite favorable to me.  As the days got closer, the temp kept dropping and the night before, wind storms developed along with some rain.  This continued throughout the day of the game.  But just because the weather was miserable, doesn't mean that I can't dress smart.
