Colin's Winter Classic 2013

This past weekend, Colin held another one of his newbie MilSim training at FlagRaiders.  Despite the cold and wet weather that day, we had a good turnout of around thirty people.  Despite the numbers, there were actually only about six people that are new to the sport.  The rest were veterans and regular players that live close to the area.  In any case, we were all there to have fun and fun was had.

The day started slowly and Colin ramped up the difficulty eventually.  By the time we came back from lunch, we were conducting business almost like usual.

You may be asking, what does the gun in the picture have to do with Colin's game?  Nothing.

The day was so miserable I did not take any pictures.  So instead, enjoy my work in progress of a Mk.18 mod. 1.

Tae Guk Gi

The other night I was able to finally watch Tae Guk Gi, a Korean WWII movie.  Released back in 2004, it had taken me this long to get around to this.  I can't help but compare this movie to that of Saving Private Ryan as it is set in the same time period and how both movies started off almost the same way.  In both movies, an elderly veteran recounted their own experiences during the war.  In Tae Guk Gi, the story revolved around two brothers from a poor family who had been forcefully conscripted into the war effort as they tried to flee Seoul from an invasion by the North.

Gaming Time

Yesterday, seeing as I did not have to work this weekend, I called up two friends for some multiplayer video game action.  We decided to have a small lunch and proceeded to shop at the local Bulk Barn for some game time snacks.  Satisfied with the abundant provisions for a long session, we proceeded to power up our units.  As some of you may know, I have reduced this particular hobby to almost non existant, except for when I truly felt like actually playing.  With other people, it hasn't happened since the days of Mario Kart 64.
