GunPla is a term used by the Japanese that is a combination of Gundam and plastic model. So basically, it is a term to describe Gundam themed plastic model kits. My interest in the model kits had nothing to do with any of the countless Gundam anime, but rather, I enjoy the design aesthetics of the models themselves. I was aware of the existence of the kits for a long time but it took me many years before I made the plunge.
From my research, I found out that Bandai is the manufacturer of the kits and there are a number of different kits of the same character, catered to various difficulties.
